New in stock: Kaiserfusion Markers

I had a delivery of Kaiserfusion Markers yesterday(as well as the fab patterned papers from Kaisercraft, which I can't show yet).  As the Mad Scrappers will be getting one of these markers in their kit, I decided to get a few more colours.

The Kaiserfusion Markers are permanent, alcohol based, with a double ended bullet point and chisel nib.  Kaisercraft claim that they are ideal for colour blending, embellishment matching and can be used on metal, pearls, ribbon, rhinestones and much more.  You can now colour your pieces to match the tone and colour palette of your creations.

I have used the marker (from the kit) to colour some pearls and other gems for a layout I was creating yesterday (will show shortly) and found it to colour perfectly well and was pleased with the results.

Last chance today to leave a comment to be included in the draw, which will take place tomorrow.  How these month's fly past!  See you tomorrow and thanks for stopping by.

Teresa Collins: Tinsel and Company

Another fab Christmas range I have available to buy at The Scrapbook Garden is this beautiful paper pack from Teresa Collins:

This paper pack includes 6 sheets of 12x12 double-sided cardstock paper, 3 sheets of foiled paper and 2 sticker accessory sheets.  You can view the paper pack HERE.

I know it may be too early for some of you to think about, but Christmas isn't that far away - especially if you like making your own cards and Christmas projects well ahead.  Anyhow, I will leave you with that thought.

Leave a comment to let me know whether you are a planner or a last minute shopper (when it comes to Christmas).  If you are a blog follower and leave a comment, I will enter your name into the draw for this month. Thanks for stopping by.

Mad Scrappers: September Layouts

It was our second Mad Scrappers Club night on Wednesday and the ladies had a great time scrapping (and talking mostly!) with the September kit, which contained some Simple Stories 'Legacy' papers.  Here is a further selection of what they created.

Anne D. created this layout using the kit contents and adding some of the stickers from the Fundamentals Sticker Sheet to add the finishing touches to her layout.  Lovely family photograph Anne.

This is the first of 2 layouts from Gayle.  Using the pre-printed 'Family Tree' patterned paper, Gayle just had to add her photographs and some (obligatory) bling to complete.  CAS layout but very effective.

I loved listening to the story behind this photograph.  Great photo choice that works well with this paper range.  Another fab family layout completed.

Finally, Linda S. completed this layout (of herself with her parents) using the papers from the kit.  Another lovely layout for your family scrapbook Linda.

What struck me on Wednesday was the striking resemblances of the people in the photographs to their relatives today - some uncannily so!  A really interesting delve into our pasts.  Thank you so much for sharing your family histories with us (and your fab layouts).

Not long now until I draw for the blog candy for this month.  Leave a comment on this post today (and if you are a blog follower) I will enter your name into the draw.  Thanks for stopping by today.

Mad Scrappers: Layouts

Another successful Mad Scrappers Club night last night (we missed you Karen, Sheila and Maureen W.) but will catch up with you all soon.

The ladies had a lovely time discussing their family photographs (many dating back quite a while), whilst using this month's Simple Stories 'Legacy' kit of Simple Basics Kit, Journaling Card Elements, Title and Borders Elements and Bazzill cardstock.

First up today is Eileen with this fab layout:

Eileen adopted the 'journal on the page' idea and it opens up to reveal......

one of the journal card elements - all ready for her thoughts.  Love that idea Eileen.

I will be showcasing more of the Mad Scrappers layouts over the next few days.  In the meantime, we have an entry into the Scrapbook Challenge for this month - from Gillian:

Although not quite 12x12 (it is in fact a 10x10 page) but I have allowed it into the challenge as she has kept to the sketch brilliantly.  A gorgeous layout of her beautiful daughter (and her new husband of course) on their wedding day.  Gillian has made a fabulous album of the day, as well as the preparations leading up to the wedding (the ceremony in Cyprus and a blessing here in England).  Hats off to you Gillian for completing it already - impressed!

I have loads to be sharing with you over the coming days, so remember to pop back.  Thanks for stopping by today.

Our Story

Using the contents of this month's Mad Scrappers Kit (and an extra sheet of the Title & Border Elements Cardstock), I created another two layouts to give an alternative to the other layouts previously shown.

For this first page I used one of the patterned papers from the Simple Basics Kit as the base and layered the top and bottom of the card with one of the Title & Border Elements Cardstock strips.  I double matted my photograph, added some lace, Prima Vintage Swirl and Prima Flowers.  The title and 'legacy' word are from the Legacy Fundamentals Cardstock Stickers.

The second page was created using strips from the Title & Border Elements Cardstock and one of the papers from the Simple Basics Kit.  This layout is just waiting for me to add small photographs of myself, DH, Daughters and Grandchildren to complete.

Looking forward to the Mad Scrappers Club tonight ladies - can't wait to see what you come up with.  See you all at 6.30 p.m.  Thanks for stopping by today.

Family (Daughters & Sisters)

This month's Mad Scrappers Kit contains a Simple Stories Legacy Basics Kit, along with some Journaling Card Elements, Title and Border Elements and Bazzill cardstock.

For the last Mad Scrappers Club (10th September), I created two layouts for the ladies of the Mad Scrappers Club to take some inspiration from.  Since then I have had time to create a few more and here is one of them:

Using one of the patterned papers from the Simple Basics Kit as the base, a Journaling Card Element and some of the Legacy Fundamentals Cardstock Stickers, I created this page of my two daughters (and their other halves).  This page ties in lovely with the 'Families are Forever' layout I created earlier to make a lovely two page spread in my album.

It is the second Mad Scrappers Club night tomorrow ladies, so see you all then.  Thanks for stopping by today.

Mexico

This is my entry into the Prima BAP sketch challenge using the sketch designed by Keren Tamir.  Details on how to enter on the Prima Blog HERE.

I used Prima 'Cigar Box' patterned papers for this layout.  I distressed the edges, inked through a template and used some Glitter Frosting Paste in Copper on the background papers before adding my layers for the photograph.

To tie in with the photograph (of a Mayan Ball Game in Mexico), I used some DCWV Burlap behind the photograph mat as well as adding some cork (for my subtitle: Vacation).  The flowers are from the Prima 'Time Traveler' range.  Other bits and pieces are from my own stash.

I enjoyed working with this sketch, why not give it a go!  Thanks for stopping by today.

Christmas PJ's

There are lots of Christmas themed 12x12 patterned papers making their way through from manufacturers at the moment, and which to choose - that is the question?

One of the Christmas ranges I have in stock this year is Kaisercraft 'Mistletoe', which is perfect for those Christmas pages.  I decided to have a go at creating a layout using this range and this is what I came up with.  It is based on a layout by Adriana Bolzon (from Kaisercraft website).

The photograph is of my 3 Granddaughters (I think it was Christmas 2011), ready on Christmas Eve with their new PJ's.  It has become a bit of a family tradition to have new nightwear on Christmas Eve ready for Christmas Day.  Although they are now older, the tradition still continues.  These days though, they prefer onesies!  The Kaisercraft 'Mistletoe' range can be found HERE.  The flowers are from Prima and can be found HERE.

Leave a comment so that I know you have passed by this way and if you are a blog follower, I will enter your name into the blog candy draw.  The blog candy this month is the paper range from Graphic45 - another fabulous Christmas range.  Thanks for stopping by.

Prima: BAP - September

The Prima Build a Page (BAP) sketch for September is by Keren Tamir:

I never got around to creating any layout with last month's, so may just give this one a go.  The closing date for entries is 30th September - plenty of time really!  Details can be found HERE.

Decisions, decisions, on what Prima range to use - what do you think?  Leave a comment to let me know and if you are a blog follower, I will enter your name into this month's blog candy draw.  Thanks for stopping by.

Mad Scrappers: August Layouts

On Wednesday it was our first Mad Scrappers Club of this month and some of the ladies brought along layouts they had finished from last month to share.  August's kit contained a Basic Grey 6x6 paper pad and coordinating cardstock.

First today is Linda P:

Using the orange patterned papers from the paper pad, combined with navy cardstock, Linda created this holiday layout.  Fab photo's Linda.

Linda also created this next layout:

I love this layout Linda - the photograph is so sweet!  Great colour combinations - just perfect!

Finally today we have Edna's layout:

Another bright layout using the pink combinations from the paper pack - more great photo choices.  Love the pink and navy combo Edna!

Thanks for sharing with us ladies.  I will be back tomorrow.  Until then have a peaceful Sunday.

More September Kit Layouts

More from our lovely Mad Scrappers today.  The first of our 2 club nights was on Wednesday and although a smaller group than normal, due to holidays, they were a very busy bunch and created some fab layouts, which I will share today.

The kit for September contains Simple Stories 'Legacy 12x12 Simple Basics Kit', along with Journaling Card and Title Strip Elements and Bazzill cardstock.

First up today is Beryl:

Beryl used one of the patterned papers from the Simple Basics Kit as the base, layering this with some of the Title Strips, Journaling Card Elements and Fundamentals Cardstock Stickers to create this fab layout.  Beautiful photograph Beryl - great choice.

Next today we have Linda L:

Using the same base, Title Strips, Journaling Card and Fundamentals Cardstock Stickers, Linda added her own twist to her layout by placing her embellishments in different places on the page.  Fab photo Linda.

Finally (for today) we have Sue:

Sue used similar base products as the previous two layouts but made the page her own by using a great photograph and different sticker elements arranged on her page.  That photograph is just perfect for this layout Sue.

Fabulous work ladies - thank you for sharing your wonderful family memories with us.  I will be back tomorrow with some layouts using our August kit.  See you then - enjoy your Saturday.

Mad Scrappers: September layouts

A busy bunch of Mad Scrappers beavered away on Wednesday to produce some fab layouts, which I will share today.  They used this month's Mad Scrappers Club Kit of Simple Stories 'Legacy 12x12 Simple Basics Kit', 4x6 Vertical Journaling Card Elements, 2x12 Border & 4x12 Title Strip Elements and Bazzill cardstock.

First up is Julia:

Using one of the patterned papers from the Simple Basics Kit and some of the Journaling Card Elements, Julia created this fab layout showing her invitation and thank you card from a recent family wedding.  Fabulous choices for this layout Julia - love it!

Next is Edna:

Using the wood effect patterned paper as a base (from the Simple Basics Kit), Title Strips, Bazzill cardstock and Fundamentals Cardstock Stickers, Edna created this page using a family photograph.  Fabulous photo choice Edna - ideal for this type of paper range.

Finally (for today) we have Linda P:

Linda used one of the patterned papers from the Simple Basics Kit as the base for her layout, layering with Title Strip Elements, Fundamentals Cardstock Stickers and Bazzill cardstock.  Another fab photo choice Linda, again perfect for this paper range.

Thanks for sharing with us ladies.  Pop back tomorrow when I have some more layouts from our Mad Scrappers to show you.  Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day.

Scrapbook Challenge: Beryl's layout

Beryl is the next entry into our monthly scrapbook challenge with this lovely wedding layout:

Using inspiration from the Susan Stringfellow sketch, Beryl created this page with a fab photo choice of her wedding day.  Love the red, embossed hearts and the embossed base card Beryl.  Thank you for entering the challenge and sharing this with us.

This layout gives Beryl 10 entries into this month's blog candy draw and she has also completed another layout for her scrapbook album (result all round!).

To enter the scrapbook challenge, see rules on this page.  The closing date is 30th September (but entries before that date are very welcome).  I would love to see your interpretation of this fab sketch, so ...... keep on scrapping!  See you back here tomorrow with more creative lovelies from our Mad Scrappers.

The Mad Scrappers Club (a name they chose themselves), is based at the Nook, South Shields and has been running for over 2 years.  The club is run on a membership basis, which includes a monthly kit (contents and sample layouts shown on this blog each month) and tea/coffee/biscuits (sometimes cake).

Scrapbook Challenge: Family Layout

Karen F. has entered into the spirit of the monthly Scrapbook Challenge and created this layout as her entry this month:

Karen has used two photographs on this layout, reversing the sketch so that her title is on the right hand side of the page.  Love the background paper used Karen (Prima Epiphany) and photo choices.  Thanks for sharing with us - fab as always!

Fancy getting 10 entries into the draw (in a block - to give you more chances of winning the blog candy?), well do what Karen did and enter your 12x12 scrapbook layout by the 30th September deadline to qualify.  Details on how to enter on the left of this page.  Thanks for stopping by today.

Families are Forever

This is the second layout I have created using this month's Mad Scrappers Kit for September, which contains a Simple Stories 'Legacy 12x12 Simple Basics Kit', Journaling Card, Border & Title Strip Elements and coordinating cardstock.

Using one of the background papers from the Simple Basics Kit (and inspiration from the 'Legacy Simple Inspiration eBook), I created this page of my Grandchildren (taken last year).  I made a 'book' from one of the journal cards to add all my journaling about these four special people, who will take our family forward into the next generation.  They are our future and also part of our family legacy.

I have more ideas on how to use this range and will share as, and when they are completed.  Leave a comment so that I know you have passed by this way.  If you are a blog follower and you leave a comment on this post today, I will enter your name into the blog candy draw for this month.  Thanks for stopping by today.

Family Memories

This month the Mad Scrappers will be creating with a Simple Stories 'Legacy' 12x12 Simple Basics Kit, 4x6 Vertical Journaling Card Elements, 2x12 Border & 4x12 Title Strip Elements and coordinating cardstock.

This is the first layout I created (a scraplift from the Simple Stories 'Legacy Simple Inspiration eBook').  I used a different background paper and changed some of the elements slightly to make the layout work with my photograph.

The photograph is of DH's Grandmothers, Harriet and Mary, who are (sadly) no longer with us.  I decided to use this photograph so that they would not be forgotten by my daughters and to show my grandchildren their relatives (whom they have never met).

There is a lovely selection of double-sided papers in the basics kit.  I also used the Fundamentals Cardstock Stickers (extra to kit), along with the Journaling, Border and Title Strip Elements (from the kit), to create this layout.

I have used a more modern photograph in my next layout to show how versatile this kit is.  Pop back tomorrow to see that layout.  Thanks for stopping by today.  Please leave a comment so that I know you have passed by this way.

Mad Scrappers Kit: September

The Mad Scrappers Kit for September consists of a Simple Stories 'Legacy' 12x12 Simple Basics Kit, 4x6 Vertical Journaling Card Elements, 2x12 Border & 4x12 Title Strip Elements and coordinating cardstock.

12x12 Simple Basics Kit

4x6 Vertical Journaling Card Elements

2x12 Border & 4x12 Title Strip Elements

I have created 2 layouts so far using this kit with another 2 pages in the 'thinking about it stage' (with possibly another one), so good mileage from this kit this month ladies.

Looking forward to seeing the first club group on Wednesday and the remainder of the club nearer the end of this month.  I will post the first 2 layouts I have completed over the next few days, so pop back then and have a look.

Thanks for stopping by today - have a lovely Saturday.

Graphic45 Easel Albums

There was plenty of creativity going on last Saturday at our Scrapbook day with the ladies from our Mad Scrappers club.  They had a Graphic45 Easel Album and 8x8 'Come Away with Me' paper pad to play create with!

I created a few pages to inspire them and this is what I did with my kit:

This is the front cover of my album.  I changed it from an Easel Album to an ordinary 8x8 album by cutting out the easel stand piece at the bottom, then covering the cut edges with washi tape.

A double page inside the album with 'flip pages' to reveal more photographs and journaling!  Here is what some of the ladies did with theirs.

Linda L. created these two pages (ready to add photographs):

Linda S. designed this page of a Disney holiday:

Gayle created this front page of her album:

And last (but certainly not least), Karen F. - front and back pages of her album:

Fabulous work ladies!  All individual pieces of work to be proud of.  Obviously, some ladies completed their albums and some have more work to do on theirs but this post was to just give you a flavour of what they did.

Thanks for stopping by today, feel free to leave a comment.  If you are a blog follower, a comment left on today's post will earn you an entry into this month's blog candy draw.
