Layout: Love the best things in life

Using the same patterned papers from Kaisercraft 'Be-YOU-tiful' range and the inspiration sheet from Kaisercraft 'Time' layout by Kylie Obst, I created this layout:

The background paper is Kaisercraft 'Be-YOU-tiful' GLAMOROUS (reverse) - I gutted out the middle to use on another layout.  This is layered with CAPTIVATING patterned paper and GRATEFUL and AMAZING are layered over as shown.

I followed the instructions on the free sheet from the Kaisercraft website but changed a few things to make the layout my own.  The photograph is larger than the original design and I also added a 'Love' chipboard word from Tando Creative.  I used a Prima SIIC Vintage Swirl, which I cut into several pieces and layered around the flowers.  I added an extra butterfly instead of more flowers.

Lots of detail on this layout but well worth it!  All the patterned papers and Sticker Sheet can be found at The Scrapbook Garden, along with Tando Creative chipboard word and Prima SIIC Vintage Swirl.  Why not give it a go!

Well it is the last day today for the scrapbook challenge.  If you have a layout to submit, make sure it gets to me before midnight tonight to qualify for the draw.  I'll be back tomorrow with the blog candy winner for this month.  See you then.

Scrapbook Challenge entrant

Another entrant into our monthly Scrapbook Challenge - this time from Linda P. (who is also a Mad Scrappers Club member).

The base paper and tag Linda used was sent from a good friend in America.   Most of the other elements came free in the Scrapbook Magazine and she added some bling and used her Pro Markers.

An absolutely fabulous, bright, Summery layout Linda.  Thanks for entering the scrapbook challenge and sharing this with us.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Kaisercraft: Bow & Arrow

2014 is all about feathers, arrows, chevron and Aztec patterns.  Bow & Arrow is just the right balance of hipster with its cool geometric patterns and pale colours.  The fab Kaisercraft 'Bow & Arrow' range has landed at The Scrapbook Garden - here's a little peek at some of the papers:

Bow & Arrow - Spirit

Bow & Arrow - Sunrise

Bow & Arrow - Fire

There are 6 more patterned papers in this range and you can view them all HERE.  Look what I found on the Kaisercraft blog - this fab layout by Danielle Krivan using this range:

Another beautiful day here in the North East of England.  If the weather is the same where you are - get out and enjoy it while it lasts.  Have a Happy Monday!  See you back here tomorrow.

Mad Scrappers: Layouts from June

Another busy night on Wednesday at the Mad Scrappers Club.  Some of the members start their layouts at the club night, finish them at home and bring them along the following month to show everyone (and to be entered into our club draw - 2 winners of £5.00 each to spend on goodies in the shop!).

Karen S. brought along two layouts from last month:

I love this photo Karen!  I also love the layout - especially the water splashes that are so realistic!

Another fab layout from Karen S. using a small amount of the patterned paper from last month's kit.  Love the story behind the photo!

Eileen also brought along two layouts she had finished at home:

Another lovely layout and fab photo choice Eileen using patterned papers from Carta Bella Summer Lovin' range.

Using more of the Carta Bella patterned papers on this layout, Eileen has managed to capture the 'Summer scene' perfectly.

Thanks for sharing with us ladies.  You can view these patterned papers on the website HERE.  I also have a limited amount of extra kits available to buy HERE.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by today.  I will be showcasing more of the Mad Scrappers layouts over the next few days, so remember to pop back again.

Kaisercraft: Mistletoe

I know! I hear you cry... it's too early for Christmas!  Manufacturers though have different ideas and coming to us soon is the first fabulous Christmas range from Kaisercraft called 'Mistletoe'.  I say first as there are more Christmas ranges to come from Kaisercraft in the next couple of months.  Here is a little sneaky peek if you cannot wait:

I will be stocking the patterned papers, which are all double-sided and the stamps.  Here are the papers:

As soon as I can, I will reveal all... or better still put the fab range on the website!  I know it is difficult to think about Christmas when the sun is shining and the kids have just started their Summer holidays but I also know that many ladies have already started their Christmas cards and projects, so this one is for you.

Leave a comment to let me know what you think of this range and if you are a blog follower, I will enter your name into the draw for this month's blog candy.

Ladies from the Mad Scrappers Club - see you tonight!  Thanks for stopping by today.

Butterflies

I have been busy creating layouts (4 so far) with the papers from August's Mad Scrappers Kit (sorry can't show you yet).  One of the layouts has butterflies on it (one of my favourite things) and I thought the butterflies would make a lovely framed picture.

I had a 6x6 decoupage frame bought years ago (from Wilkinsons I think).  I die-cut five butterflies, inked the edges, added some pearls and added to some white Bazzill cardstock.  What you cannot see very well from the photograph, is that the wings aren't flat to the cardstock (I used foam tape to lift them).

I think this idea would make an easy and quick card as well.  It's not an original idea, as I have seen loads of butterfly pictures in the shops (some quite expensive), but I love the final result.  I will show the layouts I have created early next month.  Thanks for stopping by today.

ACHILLES

This is another layout I have created using June's kit of  Bo Bunny 'Somewhere in Time' patterned papers, Bazzill cardstock and Prima Resin Frames.

I used Bazzill Bitter Chocolate cardstock as the base and layered this with 'Passage' patterned paper (which has been shaped using a template).  I used a 'Clock Mask' and some Gold Glitter Frosting Paste to create a partial clock shape on the patterned paper.

I cut the banners, clock face and journal card from 'Timeless' patterned paper.  I used the Prima Resin Frame to create the clock, adding some die-cut flourishes and some Prima flowers from my own stash.  No layout about Achilles would be complete without some arrows, so I cut some from Kraft Corrugate, which I inked.

If you leave a comment on this post today, I will give you 2 entries into the draw (seeing as I was AWOL yesterday!).  In my defence, I had an unexpected trip out to an equestrian event to watch my youngest daughter, along with a sneaky little trip to Corbridge.  Thanks for stopping by today.

Ideas for using stencils

I came across this photo for using a stencil on the Teresa Collins Blog.  It's not a new idea and I have seen some fabulous stencil work on cushions and bags like this before but I love the sentiment on this brand new stencil (coming soon) from Teresa Collins:

Teresa Collins has a 'gold theme' going on in her collections at the moment and  I'm liking the gold on this bag!

I must admit I saw some mileage in this stencil - for scrapbooking pages initially but this could be used on loads more projects.  I have just been reading that she has made the plastic thicker in these new stencils and they are more durable than the first release of stencils she produced (must be a good thing!).

What would you use this stencil for?  Leave a comment to let me know.  Thanks for stopping by today.

Prima: sneak peeks

It's that time again - when manufacturer's release sneak peeks of their forthcoming collections.  Prima have released sneaky peek images of 4 ranges ... coming soon.  Here they are - what do you think?

Prima: Forever Green - "fresh and succulent"

Prima: Cigar Box Secrets - "Mysterious with its vintage tones and images"

Prima: Epiphany - "feminine and gorgeous"

Prima: Coffee Break - "sweet and fun with a touch of whimsy"

They aren't giving much away at the moment but I like the look of all four ranges.  My favourite (just from this little sneak peek) is Epiphany - what is yours?  Leave a comment to let me know.  If you are a blog follower, I will enter your name into the draw for the fab candy.  Thanks for stopping by today - have a lovely Monday.

Love how you have added the pearl dots around the outside edge Linda using the Viva Décor pen - fab.  That photo is great too.

Mad Scrappers Layouts: Kate

Another very productive night at the Mad Scrappers Club last night.  I went home exhausted, but happy that everyone had loved the kit and had managed to create some lovely layouts with it.

Kate produced two layouts (well 3 really but my camera batteries died so I couldn't take a photo) - note to self: take extra camera batteries with you woman!  Anyhow, the first layout is for our scrapbook challenge:

I spy some Teresa Collins patterned paper and some fab Prima crystals and flowers.  Lovely layout Kate - thanks for entering into the spirit of the challenge and for sharing your family memories with us.

This next layout from Kate uses last month's kit, which included Carta Bella 'Summer Lovin' patterned papers and Bazzill Ocean Breeze cardstock:

A lovely bright layout Kate - thanks for sharing.  I love the use of the arrows - very 'on trend' at the moment.

I will be back tomorrow with more from the Mad Scrappers Club members.  Thanks for stopping by today.

Gorgeous

This is one of two layouts I have created with this month's Mad Scrappers Club Kit.  The kit contains patterned papers from Bo Bunny 'Somewhere in Time' and Bazzill cardstock in Aqua, Bitter Chocolate and White.  There are also two Prima Resin Frames in the kit but I haven't used one on this layout.

I used Bazzill Aqua cardstock for the base of this layout and layered it with Somewhere in Time 'Imagination' patterned paper.  I fussy cut the flowers from the Somewhere in Time 'Timeless' patterned paper and placed at the bottom right and left hand sides of the page.

I just added 3 (inked) paper doilies to the centre of the layout and placed the matted photograph on top.  The title is an inked Tando Creative chipboard word and the flowers are Prima Time Traveler 'Time Out'.

I kept the layout fairly simple so as not to distract from the photograph of my youngest daughter (many years ago now).  Looking forward to tonight ladies - see you later.  I will be showing some of the layouts from our club members tomorrow, so pop back then.  Thanks for stopping by today.

Scrapbook Challenge: Oldies

Karen F. is first again with this month's scrapbook challenge.  Using the title 'Oldies' (your Mam is going to love you!), Karen used a photograph of her parents, along with the sketch to create this layout:

I love Karen's take on the sketch creating a bright, happy layout incorporating some fab glitter paste and adding some buttons as texture.  Ok, perhaps it's not a 'summery' (as going to the beach) photo but the fact that Karen has taken up the challenge makes her eligible to be entered.  Thank you so much Karen for taking part.  I appreciate your time and commitment.

You can view the sketch and the entries into this month's challenge at the left hand side of this page.  I am sure I can persuade some more of the ladies to join in tomorrow at our first Mad Scrappers Club night this month.  Pop back then when I will reveal one of the layouts I have created using this month's kit.

Thanks for stopping by.
