Mad Scrappers Club: more photo's

More photo's today from the Mad Scrappers club members.  Whilst going around the room I took some photo's of layouts being created and came across this one from Gayle:
It looked very promising and when it was finished it looked like this:

This fab layout is about Gayle's trip to CSI: The Experience, in Las Vegas, last year.  How exciting!  Love how you have used the heart shape as the centre of your layout as it draws the eye to the main photograph - brilliant!

This layout is by Karen F, who used a football ticket from her favourite team as the focus for this page.  Karen also used a sketch from Scrap365 (from a design by Els Brige, Feb/Mar 2014, p59) for the design - fabulous!

Finally, this layout by Linda S, who created this CAS layout using this month's club kit.  I love that little jigsaw piece Linda - great touch!  Thanks ladies for sharing with us.

Leave a comment today (last chance for this month's blog candy) and if a follower, I will enter your name into the draw.  Draw takes place tomorrow.  Thanks for stopping by today.

Mad Scrappers Club - photo's

Well last night (due to health and work issues) we only had a small gathering of Mad Scrappers (missed you ladies - see you next month).  Those who were there made up for you by being their jovial, noisy selves (and great fun!).

As they were deep in concentration (once they had calmed down a bit), I went around the room and took some snaps of work in progress:

I was intrigued by Annette's work in progress - and it turned into this lovely layout:
Fabulous Annette - love it!  Annette used the reverse side of the foiled Confetti Hearts patterned paper for this creation.  I love how she has used memorabilia from the day and added it to her page to make it so personal.  Her title 'Hard Rock café' is cut from a kraft carrier bag - genius!

This lovely layout from Joanne is part of an album she is making for her youngest daughter.  Joanne used the reverse side of the Confetti Hearts and reverse side of the Chevron patterned papers for this layout.  A really sweet layout for a sweet little girl.

Not everyone managed to finish but I wanted to show you what Eileen got up to:
Another lovely layout in the making - just needs some finishing touches!  I will show you the finished layout next month.  Thanks for sharing with us ladies.  I have more layouts from Karen, Linda and Gayle and will post those tomorrow.  In the meantime, thanks for stopping by today.

If you leave a comment (today only on this post) and you are a follower, I will enter your name into the draw for the blog candy.  Draw takes place on Saturday.  Best of luck!

Memories

I created this layout using the same Scrap 365 Sketch that I posted about the other day.  I used Teresa Collins 'My Name Is' patterned papers and stickers from the new collection.

Using black cardstock as the base, I layered up (using the sketch) as guidance, adding layers of different patterned papers from the Teresa Collins 'My Name Is' collection that you can find HERE.

As there are several layers on this layout I have attached some with double-sided FOAM tape to add dimension.  This time I have followed the sketch more closely, deciding to add a frame around the photograph (which is attached with double-sided FOAM tape).  I cut the frame using the Cricut Machine.

It is the second Mad Scrappers Club tonight (yeah!), so I get to be with others who will create their layouts with this month's kit of MME Cupid's Arrow No. 14 papers, co-ordinating cardstock and chipboard hearts.  I will post any finished layouts on the blog tomorrow.  Thanks for stopping by today.

Authentique: Natural - offer!

The beautiful patterned papers that I used in my layout yesterday are now on offer.  Instead of 90p per sheet they have been reduced to 75p per sheet.  I used only 3 sheets of this range to complete the layout I created for the Scrap 365 sketch challenge.  You can buy them HERE.

This is the patterned paper I used for my base on the layout.  It is called 'Native'.

This is called 'Enhancements' and I used it for my title and also for word blocks on the layout.

I used 'Daydream' strips on the layout also.

Finally, this one is called 'Beaming' and although I didn't use it on the layout yesterday I have made this with it:

All in all, a lovely collection that until now I haven't used in a layout.  Sometimes I think you have to revisit some of the papers that you have (and not used) and see if you can create something with it now.  Why not give it a go today - call it 'Creative Monday'.  I would love to see what you come up with.  Thanks for stopping by today.

The Journey Awakens the Soul

I showed the latest sketch from Scrap 365 yesterday and I said I would give it a go this month - well I did and this is what I created:

I used patterned papers from Authentique 'Natural' collection.  The base paper is called 'Native'.  I used a couple of stencils on the background before deciding on creating the lines with some corrugated card (taken from a cardboard box), loaded it up with some Copper acrylic paint and stamped on the background paper.

The other paper layers are from the same Authentique collection and are called 'Daydream' and 'Enhancements'.  I wanted an organic feel to the layout and used some Burlap (Hessian to UK crafters) to mat my photograph and wooden buttons as embellishments to finish.

I will link it to the Scrap 365 site as I just like taking part in the challenge.   Thanks for stopping by today - have a lovely Sunday.

Scrap 365 Sketch: March

The Scrap 365 Sketch for March is taken from the work by Riikka Kovasin:

The prize this month is sponsored by Lemon Owl and includes all three of their collections.

The closing date for entries is 16th March 2014 - so plenty of time to get creating!  Ladies of the Mad Scrappers Club - you could use this design with patterned papers from one of your kits and submit it - what do you think?  I like the look of this one - may give it a go.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Creative Crafts: Make 'n Take

At the Creative Crafts 'Super Saturday' event on 29th March 2014 at Gateshead Stadium, I will be offering crafters the chance to create a 'Make 'n Take'.  Obviously, as time is limited during the day I decided to create something that could be made for a variety of occasions but still be made fairly quickly.

As monochrome is very on trend at the moment I decided on this decorated gift bag:

This is one I created using a plain kraft bag and covering the front and back with plain card (white) and some decorative papers in the form of Delish Designs 'Peppercorn - Appetizer' (which is a lovely script pattern).  I added the word 'Love', which is die-cut and embossed, along with a die-cut and embossed flower.  The finishing touch is a hand-made label, which is attached with some Prima 'Wire Thread'.

If you are coming along to the event and you would like to make one of these bags (there will be a nominal cost of £1.50 to cover cost of materials and adhesives), please email me at ann@thescrapbookgarden.co.uk and I will book you a place.  Places will be limited.  Please note this is a 'Make 'n Take' and not a workshop.  A majority of the products will be pre-cut and embossed to save time and therefore it will be mostly assembly only required.

As the next day will be Mother's Day, it is a lovely idea - especially filled with lovely craft goodies (available from The Scrapbook Garden).  I hope to see many of you there that live in the area.  Leave a message if you are coming along.  Thanks for stopping by today.

More new products!

Just uploaded some more new Teresa Collins products to the website shop.  You can find them all HERE.

For those looking for some fab 'Wedding Themed' patterned papers (where are you Gillian?) I have just the thing:

They also co-ordinate with these gorgeous clear stamps:

I also have in stock the Teresa Collins 12x12 stencils at an amazing price for a stencil of this size!
This one is 'Damask'

This one is 'Scallop'

Why not pop over to the shop and have a look!  Thanks for stopping by today.  It's half-term here over in England (that explains the lack of comments this week), so whatever you are doing - have a good 'un.  See you back here tomorrow.

More Flip Book pages

I have been working on some more of the pages of my Flip Book, which the ladies from the Mad Scrappers Club will be creating with on National Scrapbooking Day in May.

I decorated the inside cover of the book with one of the journal cards from the Teresa Collins 'Hello My Name Is' patterned paper range.  The second page is a photograph of me when I was about 18 months old.  I added some word and alpha stickers to the page as well as doodling some dots around the outer edge of the page.

The next two pages contain photo's of when I was younger with two of my sisters and another one when I was in the final year of school.  I have some journaling to add to finish.

I added a couple of wedding photograph's to the next two pages - adding the dots around the outer edge again.  There will be some journaling added later.

The book standing upright.  The pull-tab on the right gives this book it's 'flip' capabilities.  It works a bit like a waterfall card when pulled to reveal the smaller pages at the back of the book.  As the pages fold into each other, embellishments have to be kept flat, otherwise it wouldn't work.  I will reveal more pages as and when they are completed.

Have you ever used one of these flip books before?  Leave a comment and let me know.  Thanks for stopping by today.

Teresa Collins Flip Book

The brand new products from Teresa Collins has prompted me to make a start on one of those cute Flip Books.  Using patterned papers from 'Hello My Name Is' range I have made a start in creating one of these books for National Scrapbooking Day in May with the Mad Scrappers Club members.

The collection contains 9 double-sided sheets of patterned paper, Alpha & Label Stickers and a sheet of Decorative Stickers.

I covered the front of the book with one of the patterned papers from the range.

I added one of the journal cards. cut the middle out of another (to use as a frame) and added a photo to the centre.  I used a decorative sticker along the bottom and some Crafty Impressions Lace Border along the opening side of the book.

I added more decorative stickers and some gems (to add some bling).

Some ribbon along the spine of the book and tied in a bow at the top finishes off the front page.  I may decide to add some flowers later.

These are fabulous patterned papers and like all Teresa Collins ranges, the quality is second to none.  There are loads of ideas for decorating the inner pages on the Decorative Sticker Sheet and I have plenty of alphas on the Alphas and Label Sticker Sheet to add to the remaining inside pages.  There will be plenty of paper left over to create several layouts too.

What would you use this Flip Book for if you had one?  Leave a comment to let me know and I will enter your name into the draw for this month.  You must be a follower to qualify and the comment must be left on this post today.  Thanks for stopping by.

Mad Scrappers Layouts: Christine

Christine, one of our Mad Scrappers Club Members, kindly agreed to share these layouts created from previous Mad Scrappers Club monthly kits:

This is a layout using January's Mad Scrappers Kit of Jenni Bowlin/Echo Park patterned papers, co-ordinating cardstock and a pack of JenniBowlin Element Stickers.  A reminder of a great night out at Lumley Castle.  Lovely photo choices Christine.

This is a layout created from October's Mad Scrappers Kit of Teresa Collins 'Memorabilia' patterned paper range.  Love this layout Christine - thanks for sharing with us.

It is lovely of the ladies from the mad Scrappers Club to share their layouts with us and I will continue to show what they get up to each month.  The next club night is on 26th February, so will be showcasing more of the club members creations then.  Thanks for stopping by today.

Mad Scrappers: February layouts

It was the first of two Mad Scrappers Clubs on Wednesday night creating with some fab patterned papers from MME 'Cupid's Arrow No. 14' range.  The Bazzill cardstock colours were white, date swirl and ocean breeze.  There was also a pack of MME Cupid's Arrow No. 14 Chipboard Hearts in the kit as well.

This first layout completed by Linda P. will have you saying Ahh!

Linda is going to add some ribbon to her chipboard hearts to finish but I wanted to show you this adorable photo - so cute!  I love the gems around the heart - fab!  The red butterfly just adds the right amount of red to co-ordinate with the red hearts on the foiled paper.  Thanks for sharing with us Linda.

Julia created this layout, featuring a well known silent movie star:

Yes it's Rudolph Valentino himself.  Love how you have used the reverse side of the Confetti Hearts paper Julia - isn't it maddening when both sides are so lovely!  I love the photo film strip - lovely touch.  Thanks for sharing Julia.

That's all I have at the moment using this month's kit.  There were lots of nearly finished layouts just waiting for titles, so I will show them next month when fully completed.

I do have a couple of layouts to show you from Christine from last month and .... October last year (which I will post tomorrow).  Leave a comment for the ladies of the Mad Scrappers Club and if you are a follower (and the comment is left on this post TODAY ONLY), I will enter your name into the draw for this month.  Thanks for stopping by.

Celebrate

This the second layout I created this month using the Mad Scrappers Club Kit of MME Cupid's Arrow No. 14 patterned papers, Bazzill White, Date Swirl and Ocean Breeze cardstock, along with a pack of those fab chipboard hearts.

Now this one is all 'lovey dovey' in that it is a wedding photograph.  Not quite my great grandparents (but me - quite a few years ago now).  Apologies for the glare on the layout but those foiled papers are truly difficult to photograph.  I used the 'Confetti Hearts' patterned paper for this layout and made a banner with those gorgeous chipboard hearts.

I have been a bit of a recycler this month as the ribbon is taken from a top I bought and the beads are from a cardigan (an extra packet was on the garment).  The flowers and branches were cut on the BigShot.

Well done to those of you who guessed either a wedding or a pic of me and DH!  Thanks again for stopping by.  I hope to have some layouts from yesterday's Mad Scrappers Club night on tomorrow's post.  Pop back then and see what they have been up to.

Sweet Heart

This is the first reveal of one of the 'sneaky peeks' I showed last week.  I had you all guessing on what the photograph was ... now you can see for yourself.

As you can see it is of my Grandson (taken a few years ago now).  I used both sides of MME Cupid's Arrow 'Chevron' patterned paper to show that 'Valentine' themed papers don't have to be just about Valentine's Day.

I also used the 'Love Journal Cards' to add the layers (not wasting too much paper doing this) and it adds different patterns without cutting into different 12x12 papers.  I used one of the chipboard hearts as the base for a sub-title and added a Prima SIIC word (from my own stash).

I love the confetti trend at the moment and used two different sized heart punches to create this effect on the page, along with some wooden buttons (avert your eyes Krafty Kat).  I enjoyed the challenge of doing something different with this kit and I am pleased with the result.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Pop back tomorrow when I will reveal the second layout using this month's kit.  Mad Scrappers - first club night tonight - see you all there.

Tinchies!

Easter Bunnies going cheep...cheep!  Not literally - but I do have some new Easter themed Tinchies stamps that I have just added to The Scrapbook Garden shop.

This cute little fella is called 'The Egg Bunny' and his friend:

Who is quite shy (aah) is called 'Bunny Behind'

These are part of a selection from Crafty Impressions called 'Tinchies' because (as you've already guessed) they are quite, well tinchie.  You can find them all HERE.  Another thing - they come at a tinchie price too!

Thanks for stopping by today - leave a comment to let me know you have passed by this way.  Remember to pop back tomorrow for the first of two layout reveals using this month's Mad Scrappers Kit.
