Just a little portion of the layout to whet your appetite!  I used the Stationery Noted 'Polaroids' patterned paper for this layout.  You can buy the Scrapbook Club Kit, along with another paper pack, which includes this patterned paper here.  There is also the Teresa Collins 'Stationery Noted' Collection Pack that includes 9 sheets of 12x12 double-sided textured cardstock paper and a 12x12 double-sided die-cut cardstock accessories sheet.

Bazzill Tulle adds a veil of softness and mystery to so many projects.

Create a 'puff', wrap it like ribbon, or gather it together to create an interesting element. It looks great incorporated into themes...
like: kids, dances, birthday parties, holidays and more.

Matches Bazzill Cardstock and is sold in yards - price per yard.

Tulle Butterfly

Tulle Petunia

Tulle Truffle

You can see more here.  It is excellent value!  Just adds that finishing touch.  Have you tried it yet?  Leave a comment to let me know and I will enter your name into the blog candy draw.  Thanks for stopping by.

Scrapbook Club Kit for May: first sneaky peek!

This is the first 'sneaky peek' of what I have created with this month's scrapbook club kit.  The kit contains the fab Teresa Collins 'Stationery Noted' patterned papers 'Poppies' and 'Polaroids', along with Bazzill cardstock and those fab 'Stationery Noted' Decorative Buttons.

I must confess that I took inspiration from a layout from the Scrap 365 magazine - details when I reveal all!  You can find the scrapbook club kit here - but only 1 left!  I do have some of the patterned papers and cardstock and you can get that here - again only 1 bundle left!

If you want the whole Teresa Collins Collection Kit of 9 fabulous 12x12 sheets of patterned papers and a 12x12 accessories sheet (fabulous patterns and fabulous quality) you can find that here.

If you just popped in to have a look - leave a comment to let me know that you have passed by this way.  I appreciate your comments.  Thanks for stopping by.

Echo Park: You & Me

The gorgeous Echo Park 'You & Me' patterned paper range has landed at The Scrapbook Garden.  All I can say is ... bring on the weddings!  Everything you could need to create those fab wedding layouts - especially if you combine it with the Photo Freedom Sleeves!  This range is compatible with the Photo Freedom System making your pages easier to scrap.

Have & Hold

Happily Ever After

 True Love

Bride & Groom

 Wedding Day

Music Notes

A very classy black & white combination with a hint of gold lends itself very nicely to this latest range from Echo Park.  I will have to look out the photo's and create some pages!  (well I'll add it to the list).

Have you tried scrapping with the Photo Freedom system (or something similar) - you have?  Leave a comment to let me know.  Thanks for stopping by today.

Scrapbook Club Kit for May

I plan the scrapbook club kits months in advance and I have had the patterned papers for May's kit since February along with the fab decorative buttons.  This month we will be creating with the fabulous Teresa Collins 'Stationery Noted' patterned papers - Polaroids and Poppies:

Stationery Noted 'Polaroids'

Stationery Noted 'Poppies'

There will also be 2 sheets of Bazzill Prismatic White Cardstock, 1 sheet of Bazzill Prismatic Gray Cardstock and 1 sheet of Bazzill Maraschino Cardstock - as well as these gorgeous Teresa Collins Stationery Noted 'Decorative Buttons' as this month's technique.

These buttons are a mixture of chipboard and plastic buttons, all co-ordinating with the fab patterned papers.  I will have 1 kit left over this month and it will be available to buy later today from the website shop.  I also stock the Teresa Collins Stationery Noted Collection Kit, which contains all 9 12x12 double-sided textured cardstock paper and a 12x12 double-sided die-cut cardstock accessories sheet.

As usual, I will be making up two samples for the class next month and will be giving 'sneaky peeks' in the next few days.  Leave a comment on this post and I will enter your name into the blog candy draw.  Thanks for stopping by today.

Scrap 365 Sketch Challenge for May

I entered the Scrap 365 Sketch Challenge last month and enjoyed the process so I have decided to give it another go with this fab sketch for May:

This sketch is based on a layout by Gabrielle Pollacco and I loved it when I first saw it!

This is my entry using this sketch.  I used Prima Rondelle 'Pavanne' for the base - layered onto some Bazzill Blackbird cardstock.  I layered this up using Prima Rondelle 'Sovienne' patterned paper (used reverse side) and paper doilies.

The chipboard bird cage and wrought iron gate are from Tando Creative, which I covered with silver acrylic paint and then dabbed over with a Ranger Distress Ink Pad in Black Soot.  I covered the chipboard bird with some of the patterned paper and die-cut a butterfly using a Sizzix Die.  The roses are die-cut using a 3D Flowers Sizzix Bigz Die and the swirl is from the Prima Engraver range.

This is a really lovely layout to create - why not give it a go!  Thanks for stopping by today.

Creating Titles

Creating Titles for scrapbook pages can be made easy by buying ready made alphabets, either Thickers or alphabet stickers of some description (there are lots out there).  There is the option of course of cutting your own if you are lucky enough to own either a electronic or manual die-cutting machine.

I suppose it depends really on what effect you are trying to achieve on your layout.  Recently, I have been using a mixture of different alphabet fonts for my titles by introducing small alphas into the mix along with larger letters to emphasise a main word in my title.

American Crafts Thickers come in a variety of fonts - these DIY Thickers can be coloured to whatever shade you need.

These Prima Tiny Alphabet Stickers also contain some words and phrases.

My Mind's Eye have some fab Lush Chipboard Alphas

Add a bit of 'bling' with glittered alphabet stickers!

Whatever font or type of alphabet you use for your title ... the next step is choosing the correct title for your layout ... now that is really another discussion!

What alphabet font or type do you use on your layouts?  Do you die-cut your own?  If so, do you change your fonts according to your layout?  Many questions I know but leave a comment and let me know.  Thanks for stopping by today.

Tando Creative: Bespoke Chipboard Word Books

A while ago I started this name album for my Granddaughter.  I have finished it - just need photos to complete, which I think I will let her decide on.

It started off as a bare chipboard book that you can buy in any name from Tando Creative via The Scrapbook Garden and they start off in life looking like this.

I covered mine with patterned papers:

I added some decorative stickers in co-ordinating colours:

This is the book lying flat so you can see all the embellishments:
It is Lucy's birthday shortly and I think I will give her this and she can put in photograph's from her birthday as a keepsake.

I have had this project finished for ages but I forgot I had created it until a conversation with my daughter prompted my memory!  It made me realise that I have other things I have either half-done or not started yet.  Do you have that problem or are you organised and finish every project you start?  Leave a comment to let me know.  Thanks for stopping by.

Scrap 365 Sketch Challenge for May

A fabulous sketch challenge for May from Scrap 365 - check this out:

This sketch is by Gabrielle Pollacco - visit her blog it is truly inspiring - I love her style! (link on Scrap 365 website).

This is one I must definitely try as it has flowers, butterflies, bird cage, swirls - what's not to like?  I think I may have the perfect papers to give this one a go.

There is also a prize for the winner of a heap load of Basic Grey goodies!  Why not give this a try - even if you don't enter the challenge online, challenge yourself.  I would love to see what you come up with.  If you do decide to enter, let me know and I will visit the Scrap 365 site to view.

Leave a comment on this post today and if you are a follower, I will enter your name into the draw.  Thanks for stopping by today - enjoy your weekend.

Project Life

The Project Life photo a day challenge has taken off in a big way with lots of different manufacturers producing papers and photo sleeves to accommodate this growing trend.  I like the idea around Project Life but I am not sure whether I would have the time to record my life like this on a daily basis - hats off to those who can!

Saying that, I suppose it is like anything - once you start it becomes part of your daily routine.  I like one of the reasons behind Project Life in that it saves time when scrapbooking your photographs - especially if you use the specially produced photo sleeves.

Photos + Paper + Sleeves = Finshed

They come in a Combo Pack containing 10 sheets - enough to complete an album

Echo Park have produced their system called 'Photo Freedom' and they have combined this with several ranges that could be used for Project Life or just regular scrapbooking pages.  As well as using for Project Life they can be used for scrapbooking retrospective events such as weddings, holidays, Christmas etc. and scrapbook pages can be made fairly quickly, opposed to the regular way we have been scrapping.

As well as using the specially produced ranges to go with these photo sleeves, you could use regular scrapbooking stash and cut these to fit.  Jules (former DT member) has a video on doing this and you can view it here.

Are you a Project Life scrapbooker?  Leave a comment to let me know and I will enter your name into the draw for this month.  Thanks for stopping by.

Craft Tools

Today, I thought I would ask the question: "If you were only allowed 1 craft tool - what would it be"?  This came about from a question someone asked me yesterday (along similar lines).

Would it be your die-cutting machine (manual or electric)?
Would it be your trusty paper cutter?
Would it be your sewing machine or circle cutter perhaps!

Whatever it may be - leave a comment and let me know.  Thanks for stopping by today.

Club members layouts: Beryl

Beryl is one of our newest club members and she kindly allowed me to share with you two of her layouts she has created.  Beryl created these layouts using March's scrapbook kit of Prima Engraver patterned papers: Cartouche, Calligraphy, Arcade, along with Bazzill Prism Black, Prism Sugar Cream and White cardstock.  In the kit that month was also a pack of Prima Engraver Tiny Alphabet Stickers.  You can view the kit here.

This first layout from Beryl showcases some fantastic photographs taken in Benidorm, depicting 'The Last Supper' sculptured in sand.

Another lovely layout showing Benidorm Old Town.  Fabulous photo choices Beryl.  Thanks for sharing with us.

If you leave a comment on this post today you will be entered into the blog candy draw for today.  Up for grabs this month are the four fab Andy Skinner Masks.  Thanks for stopping by and good luck!

Club members layouts: Annette

I had to show you these lovely layouts that Annette created with this month's club kit of Glitz Design 'Uncharted Waters' patterned papers, co-ordinating cardstock and that dinky little Glitz Design Roller Doodle.

Annette based this layout on the Scrap365 Sketch Challenge for April - love her dog!  The photograph of her dog at the beach (and covered in sand) go so well with the patterned papers - gorgeous!

Annette based this layout on the Scrap365 Sketch Challenge for March.  Another lovely layout featuring her precious dog.

Tomorrow, I have a couple of layouts from one of our newest club members - Beryl.  Please pop back then - in the meantime, thank you for stopping by today.

Club members layouts: Gillian

Gillian has been creating her Dubai scrapbook album for a while and she has added another two pages this month using the scrapbook club kit for April consisting of the fab Glitz Design patterned papers, co-ordinating cardstock and Tiny Roller doodle - Anchors.

Gillian scrapped her layouts in A4 size but still used the Scrap365 sketch for this page.  She has added some Washi tape to make the layout her own.  These fab patterned papers really showcase those equally fabulous photographs.

This layout has been created using more of the patterned papers from the kit.  The photo's are beautiful and Gillian has done a great job on these pages.

Tomorrow I will be showing you what Annette created.  If you leave a comment on this post for Gillian I am sure she will pop in to read it.  Thanks for stopping by.

More April Club layouts

As promised, I thought I would show you some more from our talented club members.  They both used this month's kit of Glitz Design 'Uncharted Waters' patterned papers, co-ordinating cardstock and the Tiny Roller Doodle - Anchors.

Using the sketch from March's Scrap365 Sketch Challenge, Linda P. created this lovely layout, adding a little seahorse of her own.  A lovely photograph showcases these fab patterned papers - love it!

Linda L. used the patterned papers to create this layout using the patterned papers from the kit - love the tag Linda (made from one of the journal cards on the 'Bits & Pieces' patterned paper).

Another two fab layouts using this really gorgeous patterned paper from Glitz Design.  Please leave a comment for the ladies, whom I am sure will be passing by this way to read them.  Thank you for stopping by today.

April Scrapbook Club Layouts

Our scrapbook club 'Mad Scrappers' (a name they chose themselves) met last night for our monthly club gathering.  They used the monthly kit of Glitz Design 'Uncharted Waters' patterned papers, co-ordinating cardstock and the Glitz Design Tiny Roller Doodle - Anchors.  I also introduced a 'sketch challenge', which most of the members were happy to join in.

I have loads of layouts to show but instead of bundling them altogether, I thought I would show a few at a time as they deserve their own space.

This layout was created by Brenda B. using the Scrap365 Challenge Sketch for March.  I particularly love this layout for the attention to detail that Brenda has given it.

Brenda added some gorgeous seagull button embellishments that are simply fabulous!  It is this attention to detail that make this layout so lovely.

This layout is by Julia and again, using the challenge sketch for March, created another fabulous layout using this kit.  The elements Julia has used match the photograph perfectly (there is a story behind that but I won't go into it here).

Thank you ladies for sharing these truly fab layouts with us.  Please leave a comment and I will pass them onto the ladies concerned.    I will be sharing more of the fabulous work by our creative club members in the next few days.  Thank you for stopping by today.

April's Kit: Fun in the Sun

This is the full reveal of the 'sneaky peek' I gave last week.  I used April's kit of Glitz Design 'Uncharted Waters' patterned papers - Scallop, Bits & Pieces and Anchors, along with Vanilla Cream and Blackbird cardstock.  The technique this month is using one of the fab new Glitz Design Tiny Roller Doodles - Anchors.

I used the Blackbird cardstock as the base (gut out the middle if you want to save cardstock) and layered this with the Vanilla cardstock.  This was then layered up with Scallop, Anchors and Bits & Pieces patterned papers.

I made the pinwheel using an old template I have had for many years, adding a paper covered brad in the centre to give a co-ordinated look.  I used the Roller Doodle to add the anchor image to a piece of Scallop patterned paper (used reverse side).  I made some banners, added buttons and the title to finish.

This kit is available to buy here and includes instructions for two layouts (this one and the one I have shown previously called 'You').  Not all the elements shown on this layout are included in the kit (the buttons and title alphas are from my own stash).

Thanks for stopping by today.  If you are a follower and you leave a comment on this post (today only) you will be entered into the blog candy draw.

Echo Park: You & Me

Just to give you a little sneaky peek of the brand new Echo Park release called 'You & Me' due in this month.

It is a wedding range that is described as 'elegant' and has been designed for the Photo Freedom Sleeves.  There are six 12" x 12" double-sided patterned papers in the range and it is a black and white collection with hints of gold sprinkled throughout to give an air of sophistication.

I will reveal more once I know this collection is on its way!  The range captures every moment of the happy occasion with journal cards highlighting everything from the Father of the Bride to the cutting of the cake.

A very special collection for a very special day.  I love black and white patterned papers and I am sure this will be a big hit, especially with those scrapping their wedding photographs or making wedding cards.

Leave a comment and if you are a follower, your comment will earn you one entry into the blog candy draw.  Thank you for taking the time to stop by.
