Products update

I had posted recently on some of the fab new lines from Studio Calico Heyday I had on order.  These included Hexagon Masks, Frames, Mistable Butterflies and Mistable Fabric Thickers.

Unfortunately, these have now been discontinued and I am unable to stock these items.  This is very unfortunate but sometimes happens when products are very popular and demand exceeds supply!  I am disappointed because I had my eye on those lovely mistable butterflies!  Saying that I am sure Studio Calico have some more fabulous ranges due out soon - watch this space.

On a happier note, Prima Craftsman and Rondelle Patterned Papers and Buttons are due into stock (hopefully this week).  Something for you to drool over:

Zig Zags, Chevrons & Hexagons

Looking at all the new products coming from CHA this Summer, several trends seem to be emerging.  One that has been around this Summer in several patterned paper ranges is Zig Zags, Chevrons and Hexagons.  These can be seen in the new Glitz Design range Cashmere Dame.
Cashmere Dame: Honeycomb

Cashmere Dame: Chevron

From the same Glitz Design range comes another trend that has been around this year (and one of my faves) but is prominent in collections from CHA this Summer - and that is banners and garlands.

Cashmere Dame: Banner

There is a fifties style to this Cashmere collection as the other three papers consist of gingham, floral and cherries.

Cashmere Dame: Gingham

Cashmere Dame: Floral

Cashmere Dame: Cherries

Washi Tape

As you may already know Washi Tape comes from Japan.  It feels like masking tape and is typically made from mulberry paper.  It has been very popular in the past year with card makers and scrapbookers alike as it is so versatile and is acid free.  There are several manufacturer's who include Washi Tape as part of their collections and the Glitz Design girls have included this tape in their new ranges due out soon.  This one co-ordinates with Cashmere Dame collection:
Washi Tape Cashmere Dame - Chevron

The tape comes on a roll and is easy to tear.  It can be used as a decorative edge, for attaching elements to pages as well as wrapping a gift and for loads of other decorative purposes.

Have you used Washi Tape?  Leave a comment on this post today and I will enter your name into the blog candy draw (see rules to qualify).  Thank you for stopping by.

CHA Trend

One of the trends coming from CHA this Summer is 'Instagram Photo's' (or Polaroid to us).  There are several company's who have cottoned on to this new trend and Studio Calico is one of them with these cute Diecut Frames and Pockets:

If you pop over to www.papercrafterscorner.com they have a feature on how to make your own frames - if you haven't got any originals ... now where did I stash those Polaroid photo's!

Scrapbooking Day - 25th August 2012

Due to a last minute cancellation, there is a place left on the above scrapbooking day I am hosting on Saturday 25th August 2012 in South Shields, Tyne & Wear.  We will be scrapping away to our hearts content from 1.00 p.m. - 6.00 p.m. and will be using the fabulous Carta Bella Beautiful Moments Kit along with a 6" x 6" chipboard album.  There will be an afternoon tea included in the price, along with the kit and album, scrapping space (table each), plus written and verbal instruction from a qualified tutor.  Total price is £25.00.

Just to remind you of the fab kit by Carina Gardner:

The collection kit itself (without the album) costs £15.00, so this is a great value for money day.  If you want to come along with a friend I may be able to accommodate another person.  This place will be offered on a first come basis.  If you are interested, please email me on ann@thescrapbookgarden.co.uk

Another Tando Mask - all now in stock!

I forgot to mention this brand new 'Poppy Mask' the other day when showing the brand new Halloween themed masks.  This would be fantastic for a large number of craft projects.

It would be beautiful on a card and equally as lovely as the background to a scrapbook layout.  I love these masks as they are fantastic value for money, fabulous quality and always on trend.

All new Tando Creative Masks and chipboard Clocks are now available to buy from The Scrapbook Garden shop - www.thescrapbookgarden.co.uk

Also, I have re-stocks of Cogs Group Mask (another fantastic seller), Cobweb Mask, Snowflake Mask and these lovely chipboard Tando Mini Leaves:

These have been created using a lighter weight board that is just over 1mm thick so they are ideal to be used on cards, ATC's and printer tray projects.  A lovely mini size for any crafting project.

Leave a comment on today's blog post (and if you qualify) I will enter your name into the blog candy draw.  I know that there are many more people visiting this blog who don't leave a comment - you are missing out on the chance of winning some lovely candy!  Thank you for stopping by.

(trainee) Dog Walker

This photograph was taken on Saturday (7th July) and I created the layout on Sunday (8th July) - I have never done this before!  It was such a big deal for Kate to take the dog for a walk.  She is desperate for a dog of her own but for several reasons it is just not feasible, so taking her auntie's dog out for a walk is the next best thing.
I used a layout from Issue 65 of the Scrapbook Magazine for inspiration (page 41) as I wanted to do a quick layout.  I used Glitz Design 'Pretty in Pink' patterned papers (Ledger (used reverse side) and Roses).  The base is Bazzill Kraft Cardstock and the banners are Prima Canvas Banners that come in a pack of 10 - so plenty for several layouts!

The title is a mixture of American Crafts Thickers Felt Letter Stickers (Playroom) and Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type Stickers.  The chipboard word 'Dog' is from a pack from Tando Creative, which I simply inked with brown ink.  All in all, an easy but effective layout which was lovely and quick to make.

Thanks for stopping by today.  If you leave a comment I will enter your name into the blog candy draw for your chance to win some lovely chipboard goodies.

New Tando Creative Masks

Tando Creative have done it again ... come up with more fab designs in their ever popular mask range!  Obviously thinking ahead to Halloween they have produced these great masks:
Skull & Crossbones

Haunted House

Of course the Skull & Crossbones mask could be used for pirate themed projects not just Halloween!  Can you think of another use for these masks other than Halloween?  Leave a comment to let me know and I will enter your name into the blog candy draw.  Rules apply.  Thanks for stopping by today.

Prima: Craftsman

Not the usual flowery images that you would probably expect from Prima but this brand new range called 'Craftsman' coming from CHA this Summer just fits the bill perfectly for all those male orientated projects that we struggle to find suitable products for.

These are the fabulous wooden buttons:

This patterned paper is called ' Engineer':

This patterned paper is called 'Architect':

I think this is a very welcome addition to the fab Prima ranges this Summer as there are lots of lovely flowery patterns around but this collection is very on trend.  There are also several different cog themed masks available that would go perfectly with this range.  Here is one 7" x 7" Prima Mask that I will be stocking:

DT: Cutie

Using this month's DT kit of patterned papers, journal cards and stickers from Bazzill Vintage Marketplace, Jules has created this third layout featuring her beloved dog Mojo.

Jules has used Bazzill Frosted Teal as the base for this layout, which has been layered up with Quilted Chevron patterned papers.    The photograph of Mojo has been matted onto pieces of journal cards to which a sentiment sticker and journal card has been added.  The lovely flower has been made by using 2" punched circles, which have been folded and a button sticker added to the centre.

The title is made from American Crafts Thickers, which have been inked using a Memento Dewdrop Ink Pad (Rich Cocoa).

For further information on how Jules put this layout together - her blog can be found at www.scrappingmojo.blogspot.com

DT: Remember Blakeney

The second layout from Jules this month has been created using the DT kit, which consists of patterned papers, journal cards and stickers from the Bazzill Vintage Marketplace range.  For this layout Jules has used the Quilted Chevron patterned paper, which has been added to the base of Bazzill Sugar Cream cardstock.

Journal cards from the same range have been added behind the photograph and as part of the title.  Jules has made a flower from the Wallpaper/Polka Dot Bedding patterned papers using a 2" circle paper punch.

Jules added some faux stitching to the chevron pieces and outlined the whole page with a black pen.  Another lovely layout using this month's DT kit.  For further details visit Jules' blog at www.scrappingmojo.blogspot.com
