GORGEOUS Girl

How fantastic is this dog? Jules named this title correctly - she is gorgeous! Another beautiful layout from Jules using the fab Crate Paper 'Portrait' Collection of patterned papers and Accent Cuts. The chipboard banner is from Tando Creative. The beautiful scalloped cardstock is Bazzill Scalloped (in Honey), which co-ordinates beautifully with the patterned papers and makes the whole layout just 'pop'. These papers are so versatile - just look at what the DT are doing with them - it's amazing! Jules also used an Autumn Leaves stamp (Open Almond Petals), which is just an amazing £1.10 from The Scrapbook Garden shop.

Today is the LAST DAY to leave any comments. Any made after this date are very welcome but WILL NOT be eligible to be entered into the BLOG CANDY draw. Thanks for stopping by and good luck to everyone who has entered the draw!

Calendar

How clever is this? Julia took the 'June' sheet of patterned paper from the Crate Paper 'Portrait' Collection and made it into a beautiful calendar! The patterned paper is double-sided and Julia thought that the side printed with the months of the year would make a fabulous desk calendar - and it does!

She used her Cinch to bind this but you could also use any other binding system to do this. The beautiful flowers on the front are made from a Daisy Bucket Stamp (Daisy), which is available from The Scrapbook Garden shop and costs just £2.25. If you go over to her blog here Julia will explain in more detail how she made this lovely creation.

If you leave a comment on this beautiful project I will enter your name into the BLOG CANDY draw for this month. Thanks.

Cards using Kanban Decoupage Sheet

I use this blog to showcase a variety of products that I sell at The Scrapbook Garden and one of the popular lines is the backing card and decoupage and topper sheets from Kanban. Joanne (my daughter) made these cutie cards using a single decoupage sheet and backing card from the Kanban range.Joanne used a sheet of backing card (Swirl Background - Pink/Blue) and a Cat & Dog Decoupage Sheet to make these 4 little cute cards!

All she added was a couple of little dinky ribbon bows! Another little 'thrifty' project. Please leave a comment on this post and I will enter your name into the BLOG CANDY draw for his month. Thanks for stopping by.

HOLIDAYS

This layout is based on another layout by Ann Freeman in the Scrapbook Magazine (Issue 54, page 51). I didn't follow the layout to the letter but used the background oblong size and just added scraps of patterned paper I had left over to add the side layers, which I punched with a Martha Stewart punch. I had a large piece of patterned paper left over from a previous layout (Glitz Design - Hoopla Polka) and the other 'scraps' are from the Echo Park 'For the Record' paper collection. I used some Adorn It dimensional stickers (Summer Goodies) to add dimension in the left hand corner and also for the 'summer fun' and 'playin in the sand' words on the layout. The white scallop is from the Bazzill Just the Edge pack (which goes a very long way!). The title stickers are a 'freebie' from the Scrapbook Magazine (some time last year), which just go perfectly with the colours in this layout. Another 'thrifty' layout done for next to nothing again!

Leave a thrifty layout idea on this post and I will enter your name into the BLOG CANDY draw for this month (Draw takes place 2nd May!). Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely Easter weekend.

'MANNA' from Heaven

I used a sketch/layout taken from this month's edition of the Scrapbook Magazine (Issue 54), page 52 for this layout. The original layout from the magazine is by Ann Freeman who used 6"x6" patterned papers to show that to scrapbook you don't need to use 12"x12" papers all the time.I had some of the lovely black/white papers from the 'Wild Thing' layout I did previously (Glitz Design - Love Games) and I wanted to use this again so that it wasn't just put away with the loads of other 'off-cuts' of scrapbooking papers that I have. I played around with different variations of colours and photo's until I settled on this combination. The 'red polka dot' pattern is from that incredible selection from Echo Park 'For the Record' and I thought it went well with the monochrome layout. I used Bazzill 'Just the Edge' for the top right and bottom left of the layout and to finish it off I added that lovely chipboard flower (£1 for 5 from Poundland in the Metro Centre!). Unfortunately, I bought the flowers a couple of months ago and I doubt whether they will have any more in stock - sorry!

What is the best bargain buy you have bought recently? Leave a comment on this post and let me know as we all love a bargain! If you leave a comment I will enter your name into the BLOG CANDY draw for this month - best of luck!

'That's Captain Seagull to you'

Jules has created this gorgeous layout using the BRAND NEW paper collection from Crate Paper called 'Portrait'. She has used a variety of the patterned papers on this layout, which she has given this fantastic title to! I love the photo as it is just one of those 'rare moments' when you just know you have a little diamond in the form of the subject matter - so glad they had a camera at the ready! It is just so comical but true to life at the same time - love it!

Jules has based this layout on the April sketch on the Crate Paper blog and I am sure if you pop over to her BLOG she will give you more details on what she used and how she created it.

Wedding Belle

I created this layout using the BRAND NEW patterned paper range from Glitz Design called Afternoon Muse. The range contains 6 delicious patterned papers, each one double-sided!The papers I used are called 'Block', 'Floral' and 'Polka'. I used the alternative side of the Floral paper for the base (cutting out the circle for the photo mat) first. I then cut 2 rectangles from the Block and Polka designs and then got out my little sewing machine (that I bought a while ago), and sewed along the edges. I then stuck the rectangles to the base paper (overlapping them) before adding the circle for the photograph.

As it is a wedding layout I thought 'hearts' would be appropriate and cut various sizes on the Cricut out of green cardstock (to add some contrast). The large cut-out flower on the left is cut on the Big Shot and the large flowers on the right are Prima (who else!) Craftable Flowers. I added 2 buttons to the centre of the flower to add some extra dimension. And there you have it! - another layout from my daughter's wedding completed.

Anyhow, if you like these patterned papers they are all available from The Scrapbook Garden shop. Please leave a comment to say that you have stopped by and I will enter your name into the BLOG CANDY draw for this month. The prize (in case you have forgotten) is an A4 Prima Paper Stack and Essentials 10 Flowers!

Jaqi has created these gorgeous Box Frames using the Tando Creative 'Arrow Grab Bag', which contains a selection of arrows in various sizes and shapes. She has used her own papers and embellishments for each one but used the different chipboard arrows in a different way on each layout!

These layouts show how versatile these chipboard arrows are as Jaqi has used them on layouts for both girls and boys!

This final layout has used the arrow glittered and if you want more information on how Jaqi made these lovelies check out her BLOG

Mini Journal Album

Wow! when I received the images for this gorgeous mini album from Julia I couldn't believe what she had made this from! All I will say at this point is that she is a VERY resourceful lady! She did have some help in the form of the gorgeous patterned papers from the Echo Park 'For the Record' Collection Kit as well as the 'Noteworthy' tag sheet included. She made the beautiful red flower and leaves on the front (I told you she was resourceful!). To view further images of this little beauty pop over to her blog here and be amazed!

Cat Layout

Julia has used Bazzill card and cut this to make this 8" x 8" layout. She has used patterned papers from the Echo Park 'For the Record' Collection Kit, along with a border from the border sheet of patterned paper.

The Cat chipboard pieces are all from Tando Creative Cat Set (small) and Julia has used several techniques to create the finished look. If you visit her BLOG she will give you more details on how she put this lovely cat layout together.

Clock Tag

How fabulous is this! Julia made this little stunner using a sheet of patterned paper from Echo Park 'For the Record' Paper Collection Kit. She stamped the background paper with her own clock stamps. The pocket watch is from the same patterned paper. She added some little elements of her own - but why not pop over to her BLOG and see for yourself how she made this.

Spring Card

How lovely! Julia sent me this Spring Card she made with patterned papers from the Echo Park 'For the Record' Collection Kit. She used a Tando Creative small scalloped banner, which she painted with acrylic paints and edged in ink. The craftable flowers are from Prima (who else!) and they are finished off with a cute 'handmade' button centre. The butterfly is also from Tando Creative and this time Julia has stamped the image using one of her own stamps. If you pop over to Julia's Blog she will explain in more detail how she made this pretty card and while you are there take some time to view the 2 video tutorials she has made on how to make your own 'handmade' buttons.

Wild Thing!

This is my take on the layout Jules' created last Sunday (Picture of Contentment) using Shimelle's layout of the week (http://www.shimelle.com/). I like using sketches now and again, and like Jules commented - it is a lot quicker than trying to create your own from scratch. This layout was completed in super quick time!

I wanted to do a layout based on these brand new patterned papers from Glitz Design - Love Games collection. I used two patterned papers from the range (Damask and Stripe) and followed the sketch for the basic layout of the backing papers. I used Bazzill 'Just the Edge IV - Pepperpot' for the trim at the bottom of the photograph and the piece at the bottom of the page. I used American Crafts Thickers (from the Scrapaholix Club kit for April) and cut the flower on the Cricut machine and added a Delish Design brad.

I love this photograph taken in Florida and I think it matches quite well, especially with the stripes! Why don't you try using a sketch for your next layout - it's a lot quicker than thinking one up from scratch. There are loads of different sketch sites to be found on the internet.

Butterflies and Mini Houses!

Jaqi has created two pieces for you today. The first is one of her signature vintage layouts using a fab photograph of her ancestors. She has kept the layout simple by using the fabulous Prima Botanical "Missing You" patterned paper for the layout and using Dovecraft Whipped Cream and Bazzill Sea Salt Cardstock to double-mat her photograph. The fantastic butterflies are in fact Tando Creative chipboard - wow! I love these. If you pop over to her blog she will let you into her secret of how she created these gorgeous butterflies. For this lovely 'New Home' card - jaqi has used her own patterned papers but has used the Tando Creative Mini Houses on the front as well - very apt!

Pretty Maids

This is the second layout I got from the Scrapaholix Kit for April. As I said yesterday, the technique this month is using American Crafts Thickers on your layouts. For this layout I used the other patterned paper, which is a gorgeous citrus colour on one side and a lovely pale blue on the other. I had to use a photograph as the scanned image was showing this as yellow instead of this lovely citrus green! I did originally print this photograph in black and white because I thought it wouldn't go with the citrus side of the paper. I tried both photographs alongside the layout and decided I would go with the colour one, even though it doesn't have any citrus in it, I still like it! The layout itself is quite simple just layering the white cardstock onto black cardstock, an oblong of the citrus side of the patterned paper and a circle of the blue side of the patterned paper. The patterned strip along the bottom is from the 'tear off' strip at the bottom of the paper (manufacturers details strip) as it was patterned on one side (waste not, want not!).

The flowers were cut on the Cricut (3 different sizes, inked and layered and fastened with American Crafts black brads - not in kit). I cheated a bit on the 'bunting' for the first part of the title. It looks like I used another one of the Tando Creative scalloped bunting chipboard shapes but I actually used another Tando bunting shape (plain one) to draw around and used scalloped scissors on the edges. I layered the triangles of different coloured patterned papers on the top and added my title. The word 'maids' I cut on the Cricut and used Safmat (one of my favourite products!) for the words 'all in a row'.

Fairy Dreams

This is the first of two layouts I have created for this month's Scrapaholix Club. The technique this month is using American Crafts Thickers on your layouts. The patterned papers are from American Crafts (Hello Sunshine range).
The patterned papers are double sided and although there are only 2 sheets of patterned papers in the kit, along with 4 sheets of cardstock, I was able to make two layouts.

This first layout was created by layering up the white and brown cardstock, then layering the blue side of the patterned paper and then an oblong of the pink side of the paper. I made the 'bunting' by using a Tando Creative chipboard bunting shape and just inked the scalloped edge and added triangles of the patterned paper to cover it. I then added the Thickers (Sunrise) for the title. The butterfly was stamped onto the patterned paper and then I stamped another one onto another piece of the same paper and cut this out, then just layered it up.

I cut the flourishes from a Sizzix Die and cut on my Bigshot. The felt flowers I found in my stash (probably from years ago) and I just added some 'bling' to finish it all off. The sentiment 'Spread your wings and let the fairy in you fly!' I found on the internet (author unknown).

I hope you like my first effort for this month's kit and I will post another tomorrow. Please leave a comment on this post today and it will get your name into the BLOG CANDY draw for this month. Thanks for stopping by.
