Ross Papercraft Show: Seaburn Centre

I mentioned yesterday that the next Ross Papercraft Show will be at the Seaburn Centre, Whitburn Road, Seaburn, next Sunday - 27th April 2014.  The doors open earlier at 9.30 a.m. and close later at 4.00 p.m.  There will be lots more papercraft stalls at this event - so worth the visit.

There will be workshops through out the day, with Toni Darroch presenting two (2) workshops at 11.30am. and 1.00pm.

Hot and cold food and drink will be available through out the show. There is also a picnic area if you want to bring your own sandwiches.

Plenty of car parking all around, mostly FREE.

There is a FREE bus from the Seaburn Metro station running all day at very regular intervals, so if you are travelling by public services, just look for the 'Ross Papercraft Show' bus.

4 x FREE prize draws, one every hour from 11.30am. with every winner receiving £20.00 in vouchers to spend anywhere within the show.

Admission prices are only £3.00 for adults, with children under 16 years old, FREE if accompanied by an adult.

As usual, I will be offering the 'pick up at show' option when you order online and either pay via PayPal or cash at the show.  To order is simple: just select what you want from the online shop and when you check out, just choose the 'pick up at store option'.  This option doesn't add any postage costs to your order.  This option is only available if you are picking up at the show next Sunday (please order by Thursday at noon to enable me to process your order in time).  Hope to see many new and returning customers at the show next week.  Just stop by and say 'hello'.  Thanks for stopping by today.

S is for Sisters & also for Selfie

This is quite a long title for this double-page layout but I wanted it to show my 3 Granddaughters (younger in the first page) and how they look now (10 years later).  The title also reflects how social media has had an effect on our language (the word 'Selfie' didn't even exist 10 years ago).

The first page - showing a very young family snap.
The second page - showing the girls how they look now!
Both pages were created using this month's Mad Scrappers Kit, which consists of Bazzill Vintage Lace patterned papers, co-ordinating cardstock and a Sheer Shimmer Spritzer in gold.
I decided to use circles for these layouts because the embroidery hoops patterned paper reminded me of flair buttons and also I wanted a layout that would flow from one page to another and circles does this brilliantly.  This layout could also be used for a single page.  It was lovely to do something different from the usual layering effect that my layouts have been lately and these papers lend themselves to be cut into circles very well.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by today.  It is Good Friday (in the UK) so enjoy the day off work (if it applies).  Have a lovely day.

Just Smile and Wave

Another layout I created using the fab Glitz Design 'Black & White' range of patterned papers and 'Alphabets and Words' Sticker Sheet.  This time I used white cardstock as the base before layering up with patterned papers from Glitz Design 'Black & White' (Stripe (both sides), Floral (reverse side), XO and Bits & Pieces).
I also used some Prima Lace Stickers (Labels) and those yummy Prima Say it in Crystals (Cartographer), that co-ordinate so well with this range.  I used another card from the 'Bits & Pieces' sheet (so handy to create titles) and added some words from the Alphabets & Words Sticker Sheet.  I added a rub-on of my own (in the bottom right hand corner) to record the details of the day.

I hope I have given you some more ideas on how to use this patterned paper range (nudge, nudge Krafty Kat!).  Hope to see you back here tomorrow.  Thanks for stopping by today and have a lovely day.

Love the Pose

This is a layout I created with the fabulous Glitz Design 'Black & White' range.  I used 'Floral' for the base (reverse side), layered this up with black cardstock and 'Woodgrain' patterned paper.  The word 'Love' is from 'Bits & Pieces' patterned paper.
I made some banner shapes from 'Polka' and the reverse of 'Woodgrain' patterned papers.  The photograph is matted onto one of the journal cards from 'Bits & Pieces' patterned paper.  The words are from the 'Alphabets & Words' Sticker Sheet.
This paper range is so versatile that it is suitable for all manner of layouts (and cards!).  What would you create with this?  Leave a comment to let me know.  Thanks for stopping by today.

Octagonal Home Hanging

I showed you the Tando Creative Octagonal Home Hanging when it came into stock a couple of weeks ago.  Yesterday I decided to make one of these kits up as a sample for a forthcoming show at the end of this month.  I used Glitz Design 'Sunshine in my Soul' patterned papers (Stripe and Suns - used reverse side) and a Ranger Distress Ink Pad (Peacock Feathers).

I painted the top octagonal pieces  and the word 'HOME' with acrylic paint (watered down to give a washed look) and when dry inked the edges with the Ranger's Distress Ink Pad.   I inked the chipboard hearts, part of the house and the bird's wing with the Peacock Feathers Ink Pad, adding some small dots around the outside of the heart shapes to add contrast and pattern.

The bird, butterfly, roof of house and butterflies, were covered in the Glitz Design patterned papers.
I added some small buttons in a contrasting colour to complete.  I have attached all the octagonal sections at the back using tape to secure in place.  There is the option to tie each section together with either ribbon, string or any other suitable material.
This is just one option available on how to decorate this home hanging.  It could also be used for photographs or any other display use.  What would you use it for?  Leave a comment to let me know.  Thanks for stopping by today.
