Kaisercraft: Mistletoe

I know! I hear you cry... it's too early for Christmas!  Manufacturers though have different ideas and coming to us soon is the first fabulous Christmas range from Kaisercraft called 'Mistletoe'.  I say first as there are more Christmas ranges to come from Kaisercraft in the next couple of months.  Here is a little sneaky peek if you cannot wait:

I will be stocking the patterned papers, which are all double-sided and the stamps.  Here are the papers:

As soon as I can, I will reveal all... or better still put the fab range on the website!  I know it is difficult to think about Christmas when the sun is shining and the kids have just started their Summer holidays but I also know that many ladies have already started their Christmas cards and projects, so this one is for you.

Leave a comment to let me know what you think of this range and if you are a blog follower, I will enter your name into the draw for this month's blog candy.

Ladies from the Mad Scrappers Club - see you tonight!  Thanks for stopping by today.

Butterflies

I have been busy creating layouts (4 so far) with the papers from August's Mad Scrappers Kit (sorry can't show you yet).  One of the layouts has butterflies on it (one of my favourite things) and I thought the butterflies would make a lovely framed picture.

I had a 6x6 decoupage frame bought years ago (from Wilkinsons I think).  I die-cut five butterflies, inked the edges, added some pearls and added to some white Bazzill cardstock.  What you cannot see very well from the photograph, is that the wings aren't flat to the cardstock (I used foam tape to lift them).

I think this idea would make an easy and quick card as well.  It's not an original idea, as I have seen loads of butterfly pictures in the shops (some quite expensive), but I love the final result.  I will show the layouts I have created early next month.  Thanks for stopping by today.

ACHILLES

This is another layout I have created using June's kit of  Bo Bunny 'Somewhere in Time' patterned papers, Bazzill cardstock and Prima Resin Frames.

I used Bazzill Bitter Chocolate cardstock as the base and layered this with 'Passage' patterned paper (which has been shaped using a template).  I used a 'Clock Mask' and some Gold Glitter Frosting Paste to create a partial clock shape on the patterned paper.

I cut the banners, clock face and journal card from 'Timeless' patterned paper.  I used the Prima Resin Frame to create the clock, adding some die-cut flourishes and some Prima flowers from my own stash.  No layout about Achilles would be complete without some arrows, so I cut some from Kraft Corrugate, which I inked.

If you leave a comment on this post today, I will give you 2 entries into the draw (seeing as I was AWOL yesterday!).  In my defence, I had an unexpected trip out to an equestrian event to watch my youngest daughter, along with a sneaky little trip to Corbridge.  Thanks for stopping by today.
