Mad Scrappers Layouts

It was the second club night of this month last night.  Thanks to everyone who braved the weather and came along.  It wasn't too bad in South Shields but further inland the snow was coming down quite heavy.  I hope you all got back home safely!

This month's Mad Scrappers Kit consists of 9 (12x12) sheets of double-sided Authentique patterned papers called 'Cozy'.  Here is what some of our ladies got up to last night.

Eileen created this fab layout of a photograph taken inside a 'Snow Globe'.  Love the snow globe journal card - great idea.

Sheila's layout shows her children playing in some thick snow - perfect photo choices for these patterned papers.  Love the little gems in the middle of your snowflakes.

Beryl chose some lovely photographs of her Grandson making a snowman for her page.  Fab photo choices and layout Beryl.

Another night of great work from our club members.  Well done everyone and thanks for sharing.  I'll be back with more from our Mad Scrappers soon.

Over on the Graphic45 Blog they have details of this fabulous Mini Album featuring 'Time to Celebrate' patterned papers and embellishments, designed by Denise Johnson:

You can download instructions on how to make this fabulous creation HERE.

Even if you don't have time at the moment, print out the instructions and keep it for when you do have time.

Lovely sunny day here in the North East of England - how is it where you live?  Leave a comment to let me know.  Thanks for stopping by.

Bear Hug

Another layout today using this month's Mad Scrappers Club Kit of 9 (12x12) double-sided patterned papers from Authentique 'Cozy' range.

I used two of the patterned papers for this layout, layering them on some Bazzill 'Bitter Chocolate' Cardstock.  I die-cut some cork arrows to add some texture to the layout as well as using some corrugated card alphas for my title (from my own stash).  The chevron and hearts are wooden 'Squidgy Pins' (also from my own stash).

Another idea for the Mad Scrappers Club members - that's 4 layouts so far and I still have some paper left.  I'm sure we will see some more fab creations next week from our second club night on Wednesday.  Looking forward to catching up with everyone.

Warm & Cozy

I have created another layout using papers from this month's Mad Scrappers Kit.  In the kit this month are 9 (12x12) patterned papers from Authentique 'Cozy' range.  I used a sketch from MME December Sketch Challenge:

This is my interpretation of the sketch:

I added some extra rub-on 'stitches' to the outsides of the base paper and used one of the patterned papers to make my title 'Warm and Cozy' (hence the American spelling!).

Another idea for the ladies from the Mad Scrappers Club to use for a layout.  There is loads of mileage in the kit this month - I have another layout on the way!

Ranger Distress Inks

Ranger have announced that they will be releasing a brand new Distress Ink colour every month during 2015.  Here is the press release:

The first colour to be released is Cracked Pistachio and according to Ranger is "a retro green that fits perfectly into the Distress palette".

Each colour will be available in Ink Pad, Re-inker, Marker, Stain, Spray Stain and Paint.  Just another fab product range released at CHA this year.

Snow Fun

This is the second layout I created using this month's Mad Scrappers Club Kit, which consists of the full paper range from Authentique 'Cozy':

I used the reverse side of the 'Flurries' patterned paper and layered this with a die-cut doily.  I double matted the photograph and added die-cut flourishes and some Prima flowers to finish.  The die-cut snowflakes have a small pearl added to each centre.  The card is from the day we went dog sledding with the 'Snowy Owl Sled Dog Tours' in Canmore, Alberta, Canada, 9 years ago.

Fabulous memories of that day are captured forever in this layout - to me that is what scrapbooking is all about.  Have a lovely day.
